Toshiro Mifune

Toshiro Mifune is one of the most internationally celebrated Japanese film actors, appearing in nearly 170 films during his lifetime. Mifune is best known for his collaboration with director Akira Kurosawa in works such as “Rashomon”, “Seven Samurai” and “Yojimbo”, playing the leading role in 16 of his films.

His masculine portrayals in his films earned him a reputation as the world's best samurai actor and has inspired many actors and directors around the globe. Almost two decades after his passing, he was honored with a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016, becoming only the fourth Japanese to receive one.
