Sygnite Tokyo licensed Edvard Munch’s name and cleared his moral rights for the use of his most famous painting “Scream”, in Google Pixel 3’s commercial. Since his artwork is in the public domain, you may mistakenly think that his paintings can be freely used. However, if you make any changes to his artwork (e.g. cropping), it is important that you clear his moral rights, as such rights may still be protected even after the copyright has expired.
